It’s been a long time coming, but sports gambling is finally legal in the state of Ohio!

Ohioans will soon be able to place legal sports bets in person at several locations across the state. Several Racinos and other retail establishments have been gearing up for the launch of sports betting next year, with many already having obtained licenses and made updates to their facilities.

Several retail establishments across the state are getting ready to offer their customers this new form of entertainment while some are already constructing facilities. Sports betting has become increasingly popular in recent years, and Ohioans will soon get in on the action.

Ohio Casinos and Racinos to Offer Sports Betting

Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) recently granted Miami Valley Gaming conditional approval for a Type B sports betting license. This will make Miami Valley one step closer to offering in-person betting once the Ohio sports wagering market goes live.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway revealed that the planned sportsbook in the area will have a 130-seating capacity and will include a restaurant with a full-service bar. The facility will also have several large-screen televisions and a 34-foot-wide viewing screen.

As per the casino’s statement, “the new Barstool Sportsbook will be conveniently located directly on the gaming floor for guests looking to wager on games.”

Other casinos and racinos like Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Hall of Fame Village in Canton, and Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati will also have their own sports betting facilities.

More Retail Facilities Coming

Aside from the retail facilities at Ohio casinos and racinos, physical sportsbooks will also be available at other Ohio locations through partnerships with other businesses. For instance, BetMGM announced last month that they will have an in-person betting facility at the Great American Ball Park – the home stadium of the Cincinnati Reds.
