BetMGM Ohio Review
- Great welcome bonus
- Live streaming
- Generous odds in many markets
- Friendly website and app
- Customer service could be better
- Ongoing promotions may be lacking for existing members
While sports betting (both in-person and online) will not be operational until January 1, 2023 in the state of Ohio, BetMGM is likely to be one of the big players in the state once wagers begin being taken.
MGM was one of the first sportsbooks to apply for an online betting license in July 2022. Ohio law requires an online sportsbook to be affiliated with an in-person sportsbook, so it’s likely that BetMGM will partner with MGM Northfield Park in Cleveland.
BetMGM Welcome Bonus
It’s expected that there will be dozens of online sportsbooks ready to go in Ohio come New Year’s Day, and they will all be vying for your business. Due to that, sportsbooks offer lucrative promotions to sign-up, deposit, and continue to play on their platform.
BetMGM is currently offering new customers a First Bet Insurance up to $1000 paid in Site Credit.

BetMGM Ongoing Promotions
BetMGM offers different promotions for different sports. While it won’t be baseball season in January 2023, one promotion being run this summer is One-Game Parlay Insurance. Making several bets in one game is called a one-game parlay, and if you lose one leg of the parlay, BetMGM will refund the amount of your bet (up to $25).
BetMGM also offers an early cash-out option on selected games. If you’re bet is looking favorable at a certain point in a game, BetMGM will offer you a lesser amount to take and secure your win instead of risking that the other team might come back. It also works the other way—if the team you bet on is not having a good performance, the sportsbook will offer you a portion of your bet back to call the bet off and forfeit any chance of the team coming back.
Nearly all online sportsbooks have a referral program, and BetMGM is no exception. If a friend signs up with your referral code, they will get $50 in credits to play after making a deposit. Once they play through their $50 allotment, you will receive $50 in credits. You can refer up to 20 people this way with BetMGM, so you can see how it can be a lucrative perk.
BetMGM is one of the most popular online sportsbooks in each state where sports betting is legal (including in Nevada, where it’s the only legal online sportsbook). Keep this page bookmarked, as we will add more information when it comes to BetMGM in the state of Ohio as it is made available, and starting in January, we will update the page with a list of current promotions for bettors in the Buckeye State.
Signing up for BetMGM is free, so you are able to explore the sportsbook’s offerings before deciding to deposit. You are also able to make free bets from time to time.
As of now, BetMGM has not yet partnered with a pro sports team in the state. They have also not announced any land-based partnerships, but one could assume an affiliation with the MGM Northfield Park racino in the Cleveland area.
Yes, you can place bets in any state where BetMGM currently operates, which includes its many casinos in Las Vegas. While you can only place bets in states where BetMGM is licensed to operate, you can make a withdrawal anywhere.
No, not in Ohio since online casino gaming is not legal. BetMGM does offer online casino games and poker in other states like Pennsylvania and West Virginia, so if you were to cross state lines, you could play those games through BetMGM.
