While sports betting (both in-person and online) will not be operational until January 1, 2023 in the state of Ohio, BetMGM is likely to be one of the big players in the state once wagers begin being taken. 

MGM was one of the first sportsbooks to apply for an online betting license in July 2022. Ohio law requires an online sportsbook to be affiliated with an in-person sportsbook, so it’s likely that BetMGM will partner with MGM Northfield Park in Cleveland.

BetMGM offers different promotions for different sports. While it won’t be baseball season in January 2023, one promotion being run this summer is One-Game Parlay Insurance. Making several bets in one game is called a one-game parlay, and if you lose one leg of the parlay, BetMGM will refund the amount of your bet (up to $25).

BetMGM also offers an early cash-out option on selected games. If you’re bet is looking favorable at a certain point in a game, BetMGM will offer you a lesser amount to take and secure your win instead of risking that the other team might come back. It also works the other way—if the team you bet on is not having a good performance, the sportsbook will offer you a portion of your bet back to call the bet off and forfeit any chance of the team coming back.  

Nearly all online sportsbooks have a referral program, and BetMGM is no exception. If a friend signs up with your referral code, they will get $50 in credits to play after making a deposit.
